Basic Pistol Safety Course

In just 4 hours, students will leave our NYS Live Fire Certification with a firm grasp on the fundamentals of handgun use and a firm grip on safety, legality, the penal code, and the Safe Act. When filing for a New York pistol permit, you must finish the New York State Basic Pistol Safety course.
This training is meant to provide the learner with more than just the bare minimum, so it offers much more information than the NRA course.

A Personal Defense
It would be best if you took charge of your self-protection. The Defense is Personal Course provides the framework and resources necessary to create an individualized strategy for self-defense. Teachers in the NYSFTA help their pupils recognize specific dangers they may face at home, in the workplace, or abroad.
The Foundational Handgun Training Course
This Basic Handgun Course will introduce students to semiautomatic handguns and their essential operation, maintenance, and shooting techniques. Before heading to our state-of-the-art shooting range for a live-fire exercise, students will learn safe firearm handling procedures and hone their abilities with training firearms. The price of the course covers the use of a GLOCK 17, use of the shooting range, and ammo.
Introduction To Firing A Gun
Students will leave the Basic Shotgun Course at NYSFTA Training and Shooting Center with a solid understanding of the pump shotgun's construction, functioning, and shooting principles. Before moving on to our state-of-the-art range for live-fire exercises, students will gain experience training firearms and learn proper firearm handling procedures in the classroom. The cost of the course covers the use of a 20-gauge shotgun, as well as range fees and ammo.

Reloading Lessons For Handguns
Is your firearm field ready? Do you know how to disassemble and clean your weapon correctly? Learning the proper techniques in NYSFTA Handgun Cleaning Training is essential for keeping your gun in good working order. The experts will show you how to clean and maintain your handgun correctly. Bring your own unloaded firearm, manual, and cleaning equipment. Please bring your loaded revolver or semi-automatic pistol. Want to learn how to clean a handgun but don't have access to a firearm or cleaning equipment? We will lend you a firearm and cleaning supplies for target practice at no additional expense.
